Each year in the United States, tens of thousands of women are victims of violent crime. Many will incur severe physical,
as well as, psychological injuries from criminal attack. If properly prepared to recognize, avoid, and respond to threat situations,
many of these individuals may have escaped harm's way.
Course Description:
Surviving a violent confrontation
is more than learning "self-defense moves". This course will stress the mental awareness and preparation that is
needed to recognize, avoid, and survive a violent encounter. This course will stress simple, yet effective, defensive and
offensive principles and techniques used to escape and survive attacks. We will strive to develop your "heart of a lion"
survival and fighting mindset.
The course is conducted over a five to six week period, meeting one time per week
for two hours. The first portion of each class (30-45 minutes) will be dedicated to crime prevention education and the second
half to physical combat skills developement. Instructors will create a professional and friendly environment to enhance the
students learning. Scenario based training and learning to escape from a "padded" attacker are included.
Course topics include:
Day one: Developing your survival mindset. The keys to survival. Balance & balance
displacement. *Physical skills- Effective combat strikes.
Day two: Evaluating your risk of attack?(National &
local Crime Stats). *Physical skills- Grab escapes and strike combinations.
Day 3: Reducing your risk. Crime prevention-
Home safety & burglary prevention tips. Vehicle safety. Sexual assault & rape prevention. *Physcial skills- Chokes
& escapes from the ground.
Day 4: Reducing your risk. Workplace harassment & violence. *Physical skills-
Personal & improvised weapons. Escape & strike combinations.
Day 5: Reducing your risk. Traveling. Dangers
of and use of non-lethal & lethal weapons. Physcial skills - Final scenario.

customize this training to fit your needs. This includes the use of weapons (improvised, knives, blunt, and firearms). I will
